Bonga University marked a significant milestone with the official launch of the Russian Education Center on December 22, 2023. The inaugural ceremony, attended by notable dignitaries, including the State Minister of the Ministry of Education, H.E. Ato Kora Tushune, Bonga University President Dr. Petros Woldegiorgis, and distinguished guests Prof. Oksana Mayorova, Dr. Suslova Elena, and Prof. Gulnaz Viktorova, showcased the collaborative efforts between Bonga University and Ulianovsk Pedagogical University.
In his speech, H.E. Ato Kora expressed appreciation for the partnership between Bonga University and Ulianovsk Pedagogical University, recognizing it as a significant achievement. Dr. Petros Woldegiorgis emphasized the importance of the newly established center in enhancing the longstanding historical partnership between Ethiopia and Russia.
Delegates from Ulianovsk Pedagogical University, Dr. Suslova Elena and Prof. Gulnaz Viktorova, outlined the objectives, mission, and implementation plan of the center at Bonga University. Their insightful presentation shed light on the collaborative educational initiatives that will strengthen ties between the two nations.
The inauguration drew an audience of over 45 V/presidents from Ethiopian public universities, as well as more than 200 academic staff and students from Bonga University. The event symbolized a collective commitment to fostering educational cooperation and cultural exchange between Ethiopia and Russia. The Russian Education Center at Bonga University stands as a testament to the shared commitment to advancing education and building bridges between nations.
